We show our commitment to Christ through a willing spirit, obedience and patience. Sadly, too many of us fail to endure to the end with Christ because we live 20,30..even 50+ years of our lives in sin – then expect God to perfect our lives in a matter of months once we get “tired of the world” (or once life hits us hard and we have no where else to turn). That sounds sweet and wonderful…but it’s not how God works (though many preach this, it’s not true – everything is a process with God). We must endure in the pits, valleys and wildernesses of life [with patience and faith in Christ]…in order to enjoy the palaces, mountain tops and promise lands in Christ [with all glory and praise going to Christ].
1 Peter 5:10: And after you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace, who has called you to his eternal glory in Christ, will himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you.
Romans 5: 3-5 Not only so, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us.
Philippians 1:29 For it has been granted to you on behalf of Christ not only to believe in him, but also to suffer for him…
Acts 14:22 “We must go through many hardships to enter the kingdom of God,”
