In Prayer, Doubt = Loss!

Many times we pray to God, then turn around and make a back up plan…worrying it won’t happen (I am guilty of this myself). But this is NOT faith and it blocks our prayers! Some prayers are not answered simply because we are double minded – meaning, we don’t trust God completely. Those who don’t trust God…don’t receive from God. Period. Sometimes He might move (for His glory) that we might see He is faithful and turn/return to Him – but most times, even that doesn’t lead people to God—- after the excitement of His blessing wears off, we go right back to ignoring, disparaging, doubting Him. FAITH and OBEDIENCE are REQUIREMENTS, not options, when it comes to receiving from God.

James 1:5-8:
“If you don’t know what you’re doing, pray to the Father. He loves to help. You’ll get his help, and won’t be condescended to when you ask for it. Ask boldly, believingly, without a second thought. People who “worry their prayers” are like wind-whipped waves. Don’t think you’re going to get anything from the Master that way, adrift at sea, keeping all your options open.” – The Message Bible

“If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you. 6 But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. 7 That person should not expect to receive anything from the Lord. 8 Such a person is double-minded and unstable in all they do:” – New International Version
